PITX Empowers Communities Amid Energy Crisis: De-loading Consumption Equivalent to 9,019 Households during Luzon Grid Red Alert

PITX (Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange), the premier gateway to the South, reaffirms its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility by actively alleviating the country’s energy crisis. On April 16, during a red alert in the Luzon Grid, PITX took proactive measures to de-load energy consumption for 9,019 households, marking a significant stride towards sustainable energy practices and community support.

The red alert situation in the Luzon Grid posed a critical challenge to energy consumption and stability across affected areas. Recognizing the gravity of the situation and the potential impact on communities, PITX swiftly mobilized its resources to mitigate the strain on the grid. By strategically reducing energy consumption from Meralco and using generators from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 9 PM, the total de- loaded kWH is 13,159.02. PITX’s de-loaded energy benefited 9,019 households from power interruptions for five hours that day. PITX’s strategic approach was pivotal in stabilizing the energy supply during a crucial period.

This initiative aligns with PITX’s unwavering commitment to the United Nations Social Development Goals, particularly Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. By actively contributing to energy conservation efforts, PITX aims to promote sustainable development and foster resilience within the communities it serves.

“PITX is deeply invested in the well-being of the communities we operate in,” stated Jason Salvador, Head of Corporate Affairs and Government Relations. “Our participation in de-loading energy consumption during the red alert underscores our dedication to supporting sustainable practices and ensuring the stability of essential services for all.”

PITX’s mission is to drive positive change and create lasting impacts within its communities. Through initiatives like energy de-loading, PITX continues demonstrating its commitment to corporate social responsibility and advancing the UN’s social development goals.
